Oooh, super fast new internet connection. I can't quite handle the speed of the thing... it's making me all jittery. But anyway, last night went to see Somersault, and was suitably impressed. Aside from a nagging voice inside saying that the whole thing is a total rip-off of Bill Hensons' photography (eg naked youths looking fragile and innocent within menacing suburban back-drops), I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I love films like this that manage to give Australian settings the kind of richness that you only seem to find in foreign (eg not Australian) films. Was also very pleased to see Anne Lambert (eg "Miranda, where are you Miranda? Where are you going? MIRANDA? AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!") make a brief appearance on the screen...
